The words of the month are continuing to either take on a theme or coat-tail with other challenges going on with 365. For September I thought it would be good to pair up with Richard Sayer’s @vignouse annual NF-SOOC challenge. That’s nifty-fifty (50 mm lens or equivalent) Straight Out Of Camera in plain English for those not familiar with these terms.
It is a great way to fine tune your technical skills in a fun way. Details can be found here:

While I have chosen these words to complement Richard’s challenge, they can also be used exactly as we normally would for our regular word of the month. Please use both the sep18words and nf-sooc-2018 tag if you plan on using any words in conjunction with Richard’s challenge.
It was also suggested that I use words to appeal to a wider audience such as those who do landscape or technical shots rather than simple objects. I think you will find this month has a wide variety of words and something for everyone.
Thank you to everyone who continues to contribute their suggestions each month. Your continued faithfulness to this challenge makes my job as host of this challenge a breeze!
For newer members, the word of the month is a great place to dip your toes into. This challenge is also a great place for older members who occasionally lose their mojo and need ideas or inspiration. It can be a great challenge for those who want to go that extra nine yards to do a full month of words. The choice is yours!
The tag for the month will continue in the same format as before, first three letters of the month, the year and then ‘words’ (sep18words).
Feel free to do one word, a few, or all of them. They can be done in any order you choose, or on the suggested day. Pop in daily, or just on occasion. This is your challenge, and your project. Until next month, enjoy!

There are a lot of opportunities to get the Falls in here - long exposure? night scene? (I think they do light up the Falls at night).
What about View or Vista?
@casablanca
I also grappled with this and decided that a vista would be a far larger, more expansive view.
For example, you can have a view out of your living room window but a vista from the top of a hill.
Methinks that is the way it ought to be, but methinks has been known to be wrong, lol!
@farmreporter Ha ha, my methinks has the same issues LOL!!
I just found this on WikiDiff:
"As nouns the difference between view and vista is that view is (label) visual perception while vista is a distant view or prospect, especially one seen through some opening, avenue or a passage."
But I like your definition of expansive view too.
Thanks for the help! I was feeling baffled......not difficult for me!!

Can I ask the difference between "view" and "vista" as they are often used interchangeably? Wondering what you had in mind for the word vista.....
