2016.02.13 Saturday: Today was Day 2 of the Great Backyard Bird Count, so I managed to make time to report a couple of checklists to eBird. Although it was very cold today, with a wind chill in the single-digits, my backyard birds were quite active throughout the day and out in full force to be counted!
This tiny but forceful Carolina wren made his presence known with beautiful song; he seemed to be determined to enjoy the wonderful sunshine despite the brutal wind!
Nice capture. The birds visiting our deck railing these past couple of days are wearing us out keeping them fed. The little critters need all the food they can get these days to stay warm and healthy.
