My kingdom

The texture of the peeling paint on this wooden balcony is what made me stop and then I spotted the gecko on the inside of one of the panels. There wasn't much colour left here so I turned it into a black and white. I wonder who lived here? What's their story? Looks like another house waiting for new owners in the heart of Sliema a major town and of relatively recent growth compared to the villages visited in the last days. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sliema

How would you have shot this photo? I have close ups of the creature (different position as it was constantly moving about) in one panel, and the whole balcony which is one of the smaller sized 3 panels type? Thanks again for your comments?
OMG that little gecko is so tiny and cute and random and interesting contrast to the rest of the scene

@elza I think I would have done what you did - I would take several of both wider and closer shots and see which one contained the most interest. I might have gone in close with just a little glass to either side and taken a shot of the peeling paintwork and textured wood. I think black and white was an excellent choice as it really brings out texture of this kind so well.

@casablanca Thank you for your suggestion. I took up your cue and tried different options. I'll upload one possibility later on. Thanks again for your time.
