So what is it with this dilapidated villa? Well for starters WE bought this villa for €5 million. Secondly some 80 years ago you would have seen a princess living here.

number 1 WE means the government of Malta (we as in tax payer). As of June 2020, the Maltese government is conducting extensive restoration works on the villa. and
2 the princess later became queen and is now known as Queen Elizabeth II :). Her Majesty the Queen has described her stay on Malta as one of the best periods of her life, as it was the only time she was able to live "normally".
Hopefully a piece of history and a typical traditional Maltese residence has been saved from greedy developers. There are many photos of this building since it went up for sale and because of the sorry state it was left in by its owners. I chose to render the image as uploaded using Gimp.
What a fabulous story! I am a huge fan of our Queen and love hearing stories of her more carefree days. She's marvellous.
