2nd November for the one week only challenge. A night shot at a village cemetery in Gozo. Today we commemorated all souls' day and church bells tolled a solemn note.
This morning I visited the archaeological museum at Victoria Gozo with two of my grandchildren and we saw the Maymūnah Stone among many other artifacts. It is described as a spectacular visual relic of the Islamic presence in Malta. It is the tombstone of a girl called Majmuna, who died on 21 March 1174. The last lines of the translation fit today's somber atmosphere "...and what is to happen at my resurrection when I shall appear before my Creator? Oh my brother, be wise and repent."
