This is the place I was in on the 20th July 1969. My family was at the beach next to this place for most of the day. In the evening my father, uncle and I went into this seaside bar to watch the lunar landing on the black and white TV set. There were a few men sitting in front of the set waiting for the big moment. I remember one of them saying, "I wonder if it is solid enough? I heard the surface is very sandy." We had only two stations back then: the Malta TV which transmitted from 6.00pm till 11.00 pm and the RAI the Italian station.
These fixtures are part of the facade of the bar and restaurant. The main door is on the right hand side outside the frame. Unfortunately there was a car parked right in front. In my 4km walk I met a man who was painting windows of his boathouse. As happened many a time I was greeted in English. I answered in Maltese! And struck a conversation about the area. I learned that he was the nephew of the bar owner in 1969 and reminded me that his name was Mosé. I would have liked to ask the guy for a photo.
