Today Wednesday I spent most of the morning and early afternoon at Hamrun's police station. I thought I would be in and out in a few minutes after reporting that someone was dumping rubbish in a field which belongs to my family. It happened that the field is located in an area where some other criminal activity was reported earlier in the year so it seemed to me that the police took my report a little bit more seriously. Apart from the report I was taken on site in a police car (there is always a first for everything), pictures were taken of the site, I guess to be added to the report, and neighbours were questioned. It transpired that someone had reported to the local council with videos of the person who was dumping the rubbish!
At the police station I was addressed as Mr Zammit by the sergeant before I had introduced myself. He was an ex student of mine!
This picture was taken (on Thusday) from the Gozo ferry before we went back to Malta. It was a chilly night.
