From blob to swan

I covered 9.5km in today's walk from home to Haz-Zebbug. On my way back I passed through the Ta' Qali Crafts Village where I stopped to photograph these highly skilled artists at work at their glass factory. I watched this guy skilfully turn a red hot blob of glass into a fine swan.

Isn't that just the most fascinating thing to watch? I stood and watched glass blowers on the Isle of Wight a couple of years ago. Amazing (and hot!!)

I like to see glass blowers and even got to participate in this activity once. (Well supervised) Would really like to do it again. They don't have the safety precautions that the artists where I went had on - leather aprons, gloves, safety glasses.
