Papocci by elza

Papocci

Antirrhinum tortuosum what a mouthful. We call these Papoċċi in Maltese meaning slippers (Snapdragon, Lion's Mouth, Bunny Mouth). It's a common wild flower and when I was a boy on our way to school we used to pick the flowers and put put then on our little fingers as they would gently snap on. If I saw my grandchildren do that today I would tell them off. Hypocrite!
Shot in Gozo on my way to a meeting with a friend and as part of my daily walk. I am making it a point to walk for at least 45 minutes each day. Started last week as soon as we came back from Spain. Hopefully my waistline will go down by July as I told my son that the next time he'll see me I'll be as thin as a toothpick!
A sweet image.

Beautiful against the black. I wish these grew wild around here, I only see them where they've been planted in people's gardens.
