20th January 2016

There is a change of weather predicted from the bitterly cold, frosty but sunny days to an increase in temperature and a return to the rain.

As this may be the last sunny frosty day for a bit I thought I had better make another effort to get up early and this time head towards Teddington Lock rather than Bushy Park. We got there a few minutes before sun came above the horizon and despite a lack of clouds which often makes a sunrise more interesting, the dawn was still stunning with the sun coming up behind the footbridge.

One really unusual aspect was that the river Thames was frozen although the way up to the weir from Teddington Lock.

Beautiful comp and light, Emma. I hope the expected rain doesn't cause flooding.
