30th June 2016

We have arrived in Skipton in the Yorkshire Dales which is to be our ‘home’ for the next 5 days or so. We drove up with Mum and we are staying in a beautiful BB which overlooks the mill race and Skipton Castle. It is really well positioned and is only a few minutes walk into the town. Ian arrived soon after traveling down from Scotland.

We headed out to find somewhere to eat and settled on the Yorkshire Rose pub - OK but why do places stop serving food by 8.30pm? No desserts for us this evening.

The weather then deteriorated and the evening ended up pouring with rain. Just before then we wandered around the town and I am comparing it to a North country Venice. This is a view along a stretch of the Leeds and Liverpool canal with longboats Jack and Jill.
I love your photo.
