I had planned some time in advance that we would all go and 'get Christmassy' at the Hampton Court ice rink. I drove to Bushy Park and we then walked across the park. Unfortunately the gates to Hampton Court were padlocked shut as I had hoped to go and look for the signs of Spring in either snowdrops or daffodils but instead we walked around the walls to the other entrance. The rink was really busy but it looks lovely.
As usual we were not actually skating but instead enjoyed the excellent hot chocolate and then by the time we went back outside again, the palace floodlighting had been turned on.
This is deliberately blurred as I used slow exposure to give a sense of movement to the skaters.
In the evening we had a great meal (I cooked it!) of mixed blini starters followed by a side of salmon and prawns and finishing up with lemon tart which had in fact set although it did not look like it had this morning.
