I woke to the calling of a partridge wandering in front of the house and it was raining. We had a rather rushed morning although Edna made a great cooked breakfast. Yesterday we had promised to go and visit Mervyn and Gill’s (Ethel’s daughter) farm. We had to follow John and Edna in their car through the Welsh lanes.
It is a lovely old building, totally converted and massive. There is a large roost of bats in the loft which remain undisturbed but based on their ‘mess’ I estimate they would be easily in the hundreds - maybe Long eared bats?
Best of all was that we met their dog Meg. Meg is less than a year old so still a puppy and she is lovely. She walked into the room and straight over to see me as she obviously recognises a dog fan when she sees one.
The drive back to London was rather tiring as the rain did not let up but we stopped at the services to briefly grab a coffee and made it back to Teddington by mid afternoon. Still no call from the hospital to reschedule my ‘procedure’ so I stopped by my Doctors before we finally got home to check that they had reissued their paperwork. They hadn’t. Seems my wait on the phone for the past two days was in vain but they promised to do it tomorrow morning first thing.
