All good things have to come to an end and today both Hester and I (and respective other halves and dogs) had to head home with quite long drives. I decided to take the A30 and A303 route again and it was fairy clear although a lot fo the side roads were flooded and we had to turn back. We stopped at the Hog and Hedge very briefly as we did on the way down. Unfortunately, despite me checking and us arriving at just a few minutes past 3.00pm at our favourite Hillbrush, the kitchen had already closed so my thoughts of an elaborate late lunch were somewhat blown out of the water. Instead we made do with toasted tea cakes which were nice but not the same.
I drove the first and last part of the journey and this was the final readout from the car computer. Considering that the traffic was variable and taking into account that the Jag petrol consumption was in the low to mid 20’s, that is pretty good… and we found a parking space right by the house.
