20th October 2019

My legs are still recovering today from 24,500 footsteps yesterday.

Chris came over later in the day for lunch and in the morning I prepped the may vegetables that we needed for a roast dinner later on. We grabbed a sandwich and headed off to give Branston the dog a walk along the tow path to Kingston, stopping for an ice-cream in the King’s Field recreation ground. This is Branston in his smart coat patiently waiting but not getting any of our ice-cream cornets! We then walked avoiding the stags back through Bushy Park. We took a longer route and saw a pair of Song Thrushes which I have not seen for ages eating the berries off the mistletoe in a hawthorn tree.

Later we had our first roast in ages and somehow my roast potatoes were spectacular this time which is not always the case. Roast lamb with homemade mint sauce, potatoes, roasted parsnips and carrots, gravy and we finished with lemon flan!

I think I may be getting a cold so have started to use the ‘magic spray’ in a desperate attempt to fight it off!
