The building works continue and today was the bit that we have been most worried about - the delivery of the RSJ. Luckily it turned up first thing in the morning. The lorry driver was very skilled and all on his own managed to prepare the lorry, run up the three storey ladder and control the lorry’s crane remotely using a joystick in a console hanging around his neck. It was pretty nerve wracking as it swung over our rooftop back and forth. At one point we could see a bit of light through the wall where the RSJ was to be sited but luckily it disappeared as soon as the beam was in place
Afterwards I walked down to Card Collection with their selection of Christmas cards… the first batch to leave the sofa in the spare room!
In the afternoon we headed out so that I could undertake the final Waterstones card counts of the year. At the end of this week I plan to put out all the Christmas cards, taking 18 designs off display for temporary storage until January. In the event I managed all three counts at Richmond, Twickenham and Teddington!
