So this morning I made up cards for delivery to Card Collection tomorrow. I wrapped and sent Isabelle’s birthday presents and I continued work on the worlds most impressive letter to the head of Waterstones - it probably won’t make a difference but I’ve got it off my chest. I’m still refining it before sending. I also drafted an excellent email about our broken electric blanket!
In the afternoon I headed off to Wimbledon to collect two pairs of boots that I have ordered at a reduced price. This was part of a ruse as I wanted to test out the route to St Pancras for our surprise trip in a couple of weeks. I needed to find all the lifts to avoid having to take any stairs or escalators. It worked really well and took me 58 minutes from getting on the train to arriving at St Pancras.
I rapidly turned on my heel to get the train back to Wimbledon to pick up my boots and discovered that Debenhams which has been there for many years is sadly closing. This is the deserted shop floor on which I struggled to to find any shop assistants to help me.
Then it was back on the train to Kingston as I was going undercover in Waterstones to see exactly how many spinners are on the shop floor and whether that certain bookseller has her cards on display. I wasn’t spotted, there were eight spinners but no sign of the bookseller! I was quite tired at the end of the day.
