26th January 2020

A nice lie in with no park run, no scaffolders making a racket and no bin collection - lovely and quiet.

I was going to deliver Jenny’s photos but it started raining so I’ll do that tomorrow. Instead I spend time going through old newspaper articles on Spain (and throwing those from 1999!) and planning a trip to Northern Spain I’ve been working on but which I hope it will not cost us anything or at the least very little as we will use the money we raised through sales of old stuff on Gumtree and my Quidco earnings!

It looks a good itinerary but the most difficult part is not to keep extending it. I am trying to stick to 14-nights. My plan is to fly to Madrid airport then drive straight to Toledo for 3 nights, then traveling up to Tolosa for 4 nights (via a lunch stop in Burgos). Then from Tolosa via Pamplona to Tudela for 3-nights then via Zaragoza to Albarracin (near Teruel) for 4 nights and back to Madrid airport via Cuenca. I am thinking of cutting a night at either Tolosa or Albarracin to gain a night in the Parador at Cuenca… lots to think about, I should be a professional travel planner!

Positive: A restful yet productive day
