A big day today as Mum and Ian finally arrive back in the UK from South America via the Falkland Islands. They flew into RAF Brize Norton In the morning at around 9.00am and my brother in law David was there to pick them up and drive them back to us where they have left their car for the past few weeks! Everyone arrived in time for elevenes and a slice of my Victoria sponge cake. Mum and Ian seemed in very good spirits and David managed to down two double expressos courtesy of Colin before driving all the way back to Staffordshire.
In the afternoon after David had left Mum finally got to open all of her parcels that Sophie and Hester had sent to me along with my presents all of which seemed to go down well. Taking into account the fact Mum and Ian had been travelling for nearly 15 hours overnight I did an early dinner of salmon and prawns before they headed up for an early night.
