28th November 2013

This evening was 'Teddington Lights-up' which is an annual event when the Christmas lights in the High Street are turned on by the mayor and a local celebrity. It is really well attended and is so busy that the street is now closed to traffic for a few hours to allow for all the visitors. There was a Victorian dress theme although only this chap seemed to have followed the suggestion.

Teddington High Street is one of just ten high streets across the country which are in the running to win the independent High Street of the year competition organised by The Telegraph - fingers crossed.

Here are a few more photographs from the evening. I did not take a flash so I had to push the ISO to between 1600-2000 so they are a little grainy https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.649312325121452.1073741899.186301661422523&type=1
You really caught that feeling of activity and celebration. I like the green light reflected on the gentleman with the balloons. Best of luck to Teddington High Street in the competition!
