This second shot at water level is more daredevil. There is no zoom involved and there was not cropping, so you can see that my camera at water level was only a split second from being hit by the wave. If you look carefully you can see the droplets in suspension projected just inches in front of the camera lens. Here as well, the real size of the wave is just a few centimeters, so it is almost a dynamic macro-shot.
One difficulty of this technique is about getting focus on a target moving fast in my direction, knowing that my autofocus needs a few seconds to get adjusted.
And this one really puts you right into the turmoil of the wave. I can imagine it must be tricky getting the focus right while you know you have to get out the way soon!
