The dark island at the back is a crowded nesting place for crested cormorans. Less than a mile away lies Rouzic Island which is a crowded nesting place for ganets. In spite of the proximity of the two islands, the two bird species keep completely segregated from each other. Both islands are protected areas, it is forbidden to go ashore.
