Our water heater broke the day before Thanksgiving causing a brief panic. How were we going to shower, to clean up after the turkey dinner...? Fortunately, the plumber was still working and came to our rescue. Though somewhat poorer, we'll have hot water for Thanksgiving.
So I am thankful for many things, but the plumber is at the top of the list this year.
so glad you were able to get it replaced!!! The Gas Co. turned my water heater off 2 days before Christmas one year (claimed it was leaking) -- now there's real panic!! (But we got it fixed and back on since a friend of mine is a plumber). I understand your stress!!
@cscecil Thanks for understanding my stress! Afterwards, because it was a family holiday, I thought of my great grandmothers, one of whom lived on a farm without running water, another in a New York City tenement. They probably would have thought me a wimp! But I'm still thankful we got it fixed.
@eudora reminds me of my son's first Thanksgiving as a married man ... he went home from dinner at my house, only to find that his furnace died. And it was a wintery, COLD night! That's a nice shiny water heater you have there! :)
