St. Paul Church by eudora

St. Paul Church

Bayou Goula, Louisiana

The church, built in 1871, had already been closed when Hurricane Gustav blew off the steeple in 2008. Preservation groups are working to restore the building. I've never been inside...

Film challenge, shot with Pentax K1000

Great shot. Seems strange to see where the steeple should be. I hope they are able to restore it.

Gorgeous POV. What a beautiful structure with or without the steeple. I do hope that it gets restored. Great old tree next to it . . adds to the beauty.

Kind of a surreal image, regarding the hurricane. Nice balance. You really nailed the horizon on this one. btw, my favorite camera will always be my 1980 K1000 (my first SLR when I graduated High School). It was needed for Art School. It still works great!

Poor church... does look unbalanced without the steeple.

Hard to believe it is still not restored. Spot-on composition.

Weird without a steeple

It looks crippled without the steeple! It must be rather costly to restore it. Nice capture.
