Hurricane Isaac by eudora

Hurricane Isaac

My family and I are fine following Hurricane Isaac, although as the news shows, many people are still suffering its effects, particularly flooding. We were without power for two days, but it was restored this afternoon. Our neighbor ran us a cord from his generator, so we were able to keep our refrigerator and a couple of lamps and fans running. With that and my Coleman stove, we felt like we were living in luxury compared to earlier hurricanes!

During the storm, I put my camera on a tripod and tried a few longer-exposure shots from my carport. I wasn't too pleased with them, but it was better than sitting inside.... As always, the forces of nature are awe-inspiring.
This is fabulous. It surely shows a storm. I love it.

Wow! That's some blow! I like how this came out, I can almost feel the wind.

Nice of your neighbor to help out! We don't have hurricanes, but we do have power outages. One time I lost half a freezer full of food due to being without power over Labor Day weekend one year. Didn't mind cooking on the Coleman stove or reading by flashlight or going to bed early.
