The Purpera Building

Purpera Building
The name is all that remains. . . . I haven't been able to learn what the business was. I'm drawn to it because it reminds me of the kind of businesses that lined the streets of my hometown in the 1950's, where my father and uncle owned a hardware store. They worked 6 days a week all their lives and gave their kids not only a comfortable life but also our own closeup of The Greatest Generation. Thanks, Pop and Unc.
I like this, the history of old buildings intrigues me. I did find a link the a lumber company in Gonzales LA ( http://www.purperalumber.com/about-us) maybe it was store for them at one time.

@joysabin You are right! I posted the same photo on a Facebook page Abandoned Louisiana and one of the comments said it was the old lumber yard. I didn't know that. Thanks for your comments.

It was beautiful building in its day because it's still beautiful even its decay.
