After watching the awful fire at Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, I looked up this family photo of three American soldiers in Paris at the end of World War II. I wondered if Norte Dame might be in the background....
In the center is Albert Owens, Jr, a cousin of my husband. He sent the snapshot to his grandparents.
What a treasure to have a photo like this! Perhaps someone from Paris or France can answer your question about whether that’s Notre Dame in the background.
It's hard to tell- but I think the value is not in the buildings but the family ties. My father was stationed in the French countryside for a while but I don't think he was ever in Paris. Jeff's great grandfather supposedly came here from Paris though but we have no way of knowing. LeFevre is like Smith in France!
