Happy New Year! Taken in Mayflower Gulch near Leadville, CO. I snowshoed to this location on a beautiful day with the sun glistening on the snow. The trail leads back to these old mining cabins just filled with history. I took this shot through the window of one of the mining cabins just barely standing. It got me to thinking about what those miners thought as they peered at these glorious mountains through this window. What were their aspirations, dreams and goals? For us, it's a new year, with new dreams, and a hopeful vision for 2017. May this year bring you much joy, peace and happiness.
Oh so envious - what a beautiful day that must have been. Learning to snowshoe was one thing I always wanted to learn all the winters I was out in Colorado. Great shot. Fav
@milaniet Thank you so much Milanie!!! I so love snowshoeing! It's a bit cumbersome at first, but then it's just all about realizing those shoes are getting me to areas I wouldn't otherwise have hiked too due to knee hip lunges into the deep snow lol! I so encourage you to try it still and find yourself in winter bliss!
