After traveling to Telluride, Colorado via Last Dollar Road, I decided to take a chance and capture a sunset of Wilson Peak. My goal was to capture a sunset along Dallas Divide, but it looked like a cloudless evening toward that area. So, I setup to shoot this commanding peak with it's glorious display of aspens in the foreground. It appeared the light was going to just fade into a blue/gray sunset and then for a brief moment there was this soft glow of light and the subtle colors glowing in the clouds. I felt blessed to capture this scene on this quiet night of miracles!
This is really spectacular - you probably couldn't have caught it if you hadn't already been set up - it's so fleeting. Those gorgeous aspen are just bathed in golden light. Fav
