This shot has been a work in progress. The foreground was shot as a focus stack trying to get the flowers mostly in focus and then a vertical pano up with a long exposure to capture the waterfall. Definitely an experiment for me photographically. I was somewhat surprised and happy by the outcome. Thank you all always for your support!
@365karly1 Thank you so much Karly!!! For the foreground photo, I stacked 5 different focus points for the flowers to get them in focus using Photoshop. I did have to clone in a few areas that were still out of focus. I had then taken four more shots vertically with long exposures to smooth out the waterfall and merged them as a panorama in photoshop. It actually worked how I wanted it to. It was definitely an experiment in the field, but I was happy with the outcome. The benefit too, is that it is a pretty large file, so I can print in larger forma if needed.
Pretty cool shot!! Love the colors and compo. Didn't high f stop work for you to keep everything in focus? Something like f22 or so. Gorgeous processing
@petaqui Thank you so much for your comments!!!
I could have shot at f22, but I was right on top of the flowers and low to the ground, so it still would have been difficult to get the entire scene mostly in focus.
@365karly1 It is a bit crazy, but I did have my first frame as part of the vertical shot. However, the first frame for the foreground flowers was stacked for DOF. I then used that stacked image and stitched it together with the other images used for the vertical pano. Hope this makes sense. It was quite a process, lol.
@exposure4u LOVE the photo, and sincerely appreciate your explanation. I need to learn from you! And now that I've faved every photo I've seen, I'm wondering why I hadn't been following you from much earlier, but I've been so in and out these past couple of years. . . .
