Hats off to the bird photographers out there. It is not easy chasing these quick creatures, especially while manually focusing a telephoto lens from an upstairs window. I liked this pose 'though it could be a bit sharper. I will keep trying! Note to Anne: After I complained about not seeing any birds in my yard this season,12 species appeared in my yard. I guess you just have to ask!
Wow, look at that colour! I too have gained a lot more respect for bird photographers - I think patience is the thing I lack most when it comes to bird photography. Superb job here!
This is a wonderful composition - he planned it well, didn't he. Love the way the tail feathers show below the branch. I've been playing with the goldfinches - they sure don't stay still long so I know how patient (and quick on the trigger) you must have been.
