For the Love of Nature

I chose this image to say goodbye to warm and sunny Florida as we head home to CT in the morning. This is an open abalone shell that we discovered on the beach today. I have never seen a whole shell, never mind an intact double one. I opened it up to find the smaller shells inside. It was about 7-8" long - so a very large shell. I left it on the beach for someone else to discover.
That was a wonderful find - time went fast in Florida - I've enjoyed your pictures from there. Hope weather is good at home.

Wonderful find, pic! I love Florida! I saw you were in the Bradenton, Anna Maria Island area. I love to photograph there. The eagles I capture are in Sarasota and this next week will be mostly from Ft DeSoto (just a short drive south). Sounds like you enjoyed your time here!!

Stunning capture of this beautiful heart shaped shell. Lovely textures and little shells. Here our Abalone are just a round shell that does not open.
