Bee on Aster

Best viewed large if you have time.
While I am not totally happy with this shot - I have seen so many better ones on 365 - there are a few redeeming features of this picture.
First, this was taken before she had a chance to clean the pollen off her face.
Second, you can tell that she is an older bee because of how beat up and frayed the ends of her wings are. I wonder how many miles she has logged on in her short life?
I find bees fascinating - they fly miles from home, gather pollen and nectar, and then can find their way back every time.
Awesome creatures.
Fantastic detail and composition! Bees are amazing! Fav! Thanks for your sweet comments! It is fun to follow you! Love your animals and i have an idea how hard you work each day on a farm and reporting!

Magnificent documentation of a busy bee. I envy your macro shot. I can not afford to buy an expensive camera.
