Horns

There are few cows without names at our place. We had one that was constantly doing stupid things and getting herself in trouble so we called her Trouble. One that had markings on her bald white face that made her look like she had a dirty face, so she was - you guessed it - Dirty Face. Leslie means Grey Fortress for our grey cow, Faith for the cow who almost died at birth, and the list goes on.
This one has no name. We just refer her as the one with the nice horns.
You may have noticed in a previous picture that Gretzsky's horns go straight up. We trained these horns to grow down when she was a calf. This is the traditional look for Horned Herefords.
She is very engrossed in the salt lick.

Nice shot with the eye peeking over her horn. I'd call her Curly.

Great framing for her eye! Never knew that their horns had to be trained.

I have never seen or heard of a horned Hereford so very interesting to me....funny how names develop to identify the cows.
