Higginson Tower by farmreporter

Higginson Tower

The stone base of this 56 foot tower was originally constructed in 1830 to be a wind-powered grist mill. When that effort failed, it was converted into an observatory. The tower later performed a defensive role during the Fenian Raids. Today, visitors can climb the tower and learn about the site’s history while exploring exhibits of artifacts found during an archaeological investigation.
Nice shot. B&W works well here.
