Coco by farmreporter

Coco

I never did like this photo but was loathe to delete it for some reason. I guess I somehow realized that it would be the last shot I would take of Coco (the one in front).
She died today (but uploaded on the 16th).
She was a good dog. She was the mothering type though she never had pups of her own. She was constantly licking and mothering Cinnamon, her partner in crime and full sister (in back).
They were constant companions. I took this photo of the two of them last year. It perfectly shows the love they had for each other.

Coco was a people dog and would sneak into our bedroom at night to be near us and run out as soon as she heard me get up because she knew I did not want any dogs in the bedroom. ( I think I am entitled to one room in the house without dog hair - LOL!)
She was never any trouble, right up to the very end. She continued her guard duty and never missed her daily walks because of health issues. She just died suddenly, and without pain - we suspect she had a heart attack - and was no bother to us. (except for the hole in our hearts)
We buried her in our pet cemetery located in the shade of wild apple trees.
I'm so sorry for the loss of your faithful friend.

It is so sad when we lose our furry friends - my heart goes out to you as I know what a big hole they leave. Luckily you still have an adorable dog left to cuddle and cry with!

@lyndamcg I actually have two dogs - and we are on the hunt for another to replace Coco. A home without dogs is an empty house indeed!

@30pics4jackiesdiamond
Thanks, Jackie. Hubby took it harder than I did - i tend to be a bit pragmatic about these things ... and hubby has a soft heart under his tough exterior.
