i was delighted to see the dramatic clouds move in the evening before my local camera club meeting since the challenge was Weather Landscape.
I am glad I brought this image to them - they suggested that I crop much of the boring foreground out and put the tree lower in the photo. I originally had the tree further up, almost vertically centre of the photo, but still on the third portion horizontally, and so much smaller. It takes on more significance now.
I don't say this often, but it is better on black.
Well done- I think you could come in even more on the bottom (just up to the rock on the left) and the right to feature the tree (maybe just past the little bush but not on the smaller tree) and enlarge the sky. JMHO! The sky is wonderfully dramatic- and I think that's the "story" of this picture.
A very striking shot, Wendy... and it repays a detailed look. You got some good, fairly conventional advice and it works well for a shot like this. Fav
