This is the tiny 400 square foot home that we lived in for five wonderful years in Fairview, Alberta.(1995-2000) Of course, the barn was bigger than the house!
I had a huge vegetable garden that supplied all our fresh and canned vegetables for the year as well as made a generous donation to the local food bank and church fall harvest supper.
My flower garden, however, was limited to annuals and some very tough perennials - but no roses!
While the growing season was short (frost into the beginning of June and again in early September) the exceptionally long summer days of northern Alberta put plants in an accelerated growth not found elsewhere.
I have finally invested in a Lightroom-Photoshop package and have been importing the thousands of photos I have carefully digitally filed over the past 15 years into Lightroom's amazing program.
Unfortunately, this has been eating up my photography time so I will upload fillers from my 2006 trip to Fairview, Alberta to attend the wedding a very dear friend.
We lived there 20 years ago ... hard to believe it has been that long!
It's so nice to read about your memories of living here. I can just imagine your garden--it must have been amazing! Do you still can? We have homemade, canned salsa every year...
A lovely looking home Wendy. We don't get homes like this in our area. Ours is repeating display of red brick houses. Your houses have so much more character :-)

I no longer do a vegetable garden but now love my roses and flower garden. I always dreamed of having flowers when I lived in Alberta and now I can!
@farmreporter I lust after long summer days for growing... we sort of live in a holler, and obviously quite a bit further south. I'm writing to apologize for not coming through with panning shot for the get-pushed challenge. I've not had internet until yesterday and have let photos drop by the wayside for a bit. I plan to put a panning shot front and center when I "return."

Not to worry - I did your shot today and will get it up shortly!
