Kathy @randystreat has challenged me to night photography for this week's get pushed challenge which is perfect since Comet Neowise is gracing the night skies.
However ... I have yet to get a good shot of it. So, I headed downtown Alexandria for a shot rather than missing out on this week's challenge.
Here is a night time shot, Kathy @randystreat . I still hope to get the comet tonight since they are calling for clearer skies. But, I wanted to get at least one photo in for the challenge just in case I do not!
Oh I like this a lot Wendy. I particularly like the starburst effect of the street lights. Well done. I've not even seen the comet except in the media and on this site.
Hi! So sorry about delay in posting you a challenge for this week. How about some back-to-basics technical task? Here it is: take a picture where a dark subject takes most of the photo and still have the picture exposed correctly (The automatic metering will try to overexpose it). E.g. close-up portrait of a black cat or dog, a dark object, etc. If this won't work, here is a plan B: a minimalistic photo where your focal point or subject is right on the edge of the picture.

I just may try to do both if I have the time.
