I swear I saw one of his prints that showed the front and the back of the same flower. I wanted to show the link but cannot find it anymore!! It was probably a different artist - lol!!
This from the artist challenge introduction:
Karl Blossfeldt (1865 – 1932) was a German who studied and later became Professor of applied art and design. He took close-up portraits of plants, twigs, seeds, leaves, and other flora for 3 decades , as studies for their architectural and sculptural forms. He used homemade cameras with huge magnification. It was not until he was in his 60s that his photography was exhibited and he published 3 photo books which became very successful.
I really enjoyed his work. He made incredible images with very rough equipment. He was a true pioneer!
I don't know if he has done the same flower front and back but I have seen ones where he did the same plant in what appear to be different stages of development . http://soulcatcherstudio.com/plate003/
