...that I used to call 'Wandering Jew' but I have no idea whether that is still its' common name.
You never know in these times of political correctness.
The last shot for my black and white get pushed challenge set by Delwyn @dkbarnett.
Very pretty capture of the stripes on this plant. I still call it a Wandering Jew but you're right. It's probably no longer politically correct. Occasionally I heard people refer to it as a wandering dew.
This says “silver Inch plant” or sometimes due to controversy, “wandering Dude” like a surfer dude?
“Tradescantia zebrina, formerly known as Zebrina pendula, is a species of creeping plant in the Tradescantia genus. Common names include silver inch plant and wandering Jew. The latter name (also sometimes used for the related species T. fluminensis) is controversial, and some now use the alternative wandering dude.”
so many varieties of this! I have a native one that is quite nice, and a really nasty invasive one, and another variety that spreads fast but has a tiny rounder leaf
I am not remotely PC so I stick with many of the traditional names. People still know things by that and never meant offence in the first place! Such a pretty plant and it really suits B&W
Here is my last one, Delwyn. Thank you for the fabulous challenge. It was just what I needed to get back my phojo back!
