Glengarry Routes – Stop 1 Maxville

The “Max” in Maxville was originally “Macs” after the Highland Scots who settled here around 1815. The boomtown fronted shops of Maxville testify to the prosperity that arrived when the Canada Atlantic Railroad came through in 1882. There are also large brick homes with ornate woodwork and wrap around verandahs just off of Main Street.
Love the architecture. Great shot
