Found this grasshopper hiding in amongst the long grass. He is wearing his suit of amour, at least that's what I always think it looks like! Check it out on the black background!
I agree about the suit of amour, a wonder macro and great timing to get this shot before he hopped off. Do you hold your breath when take these shots. I know I do but I also know I shouldn't if I want to avoid camera shake! Fav.
Instant fav for the excellent focus in the macro shot. The details in his antennae, his eye, his monstrous facial features are all fantastic. Got a chuckle out of Jan's @macromover comment about holding her breath. I do the same thing so often.
