The squirrels are starting to collect the acorns to help them through the winter. People say that when there are lots of acorns that means it's going to be a bad winter. Guess we'll have to wait and see.
We have a tree that’s producing gangbusters but we also recently took down a rotting tree house that was holding it back. Not sure if the other oaks are creating so many acorns or not.

Our neighbor has a huge oak tree that borders our properties. Last year it produced the most acorns ever. So much so they almost completely carpeted the corner on the back of our property. Last winter, in our corner of the world at least, was not the worst we have experienced. Hoping for a mild winter!
