Getting ready for babies

Found this pileated woodpecker in this tree and I could hear it pounding away inside. I'm hoping that it has chosen this tree to have it's babies.

Awesome capture!! I believe you have a male pileated. The red streak on his cheek going to his beak indicates male...a female has a black streak. Hopefully he’s setting it up for mama.
