They have arrived ... the little red milkweed bug. Such an interesting bug to photograph. They are kind of funny too as ... if they get scared they literally just drop of the leaf.
Their looks and their behaviour remind me a lot of lily beetles. Those too just let go and drop off the leaves if they feel threatened. It’s a surprisingly effective defence as it becomes very difficult to follow them down and find them again once they let go.
