No Man's Land by fishers

No Man's Land

I took a trip with Ian to a war museum called Eden Camp. The museum is based in an old prisoner of war camp and each hut gives a different "experience" or aspect of the Second World War.

This space between the huts was to show how no-man's land might have looked. I thought the snow and sunshine added to the atmosphere.

Bit grim. We saw 'No Man's Land' before Germany was re-unified - it divided the Harz Mountains, scarified earth, there were watchtowers, it was covered in barbed wire...and mined! Trust the Communists!

Yes, it makes you think doesn't it?

This looks rather like an area of the Nairobi slums where I've been working!

Great shot. It reminded me of the last book we read in book group. It was called- Village of Secrets (Defying the Nazis in Vichy France) by Caroline Moorhead.

@julzmaioro @busylady @bkbinthecity @lhart @thresheg Thank you. It was an area that made me think how fortunate I am not to have to witness a scene like this, other than in a museum. katharine
