Shell Collaboration by fishers

Shell Collaboration

I decided to play with my camera and take pictures of a variety of shells and beads. I looked at different angles and light and took a number of snaps.

Ian showed me how cropping could change the character of the subject of the picture. I rather liked this abstraction of this crop and decided to post it. Ian did point out this effect could be achieved by using the macro and that I ought to try this in the future.

Neat shot with an abstract look...like the curved line

You've got a good teacher Katharine... he might also have mentioned that with a touch more contrast this would also work well in B&W, where the noise in the picture (as a result of the crop) would appear as grain. Try it for the learning...

Thank you for your comments. I find it amazing how cropping can alter a picture completely. I am glad Ian is around to show me what can be achieved. Katharine

@vignouse Thank you for your comment and ideas. Ian takes things very slowly for me. Photography is not really my forte, I am much better with fabric and needles but I enjoy trying and looking at other peoples work. Katharine

@fishers You're welcome Katharine - fabric, wool, needles is also Mrs S's forte.
