Riverside Footpath by fishers

Riverside Footpath

It's a pleasant walk beside the River Ouse from where I live into the centre of York, but not at the moment - the river should be to the right of the trees and the footpath to the left!

The floods are now beginning to drop in level.

Before I read your comment I thought oh no it looks like the river is overflowing it's banks. great picture though.

Nice shot but it is too bad so many are having to live with flood waters. Down the street for me houses ae surrounded and have been for two weeks already.

@bruni @vernabeth @dide @seattlite @pyrrhula @bkbinthecity @kjarn Thank you all for your thoughtful commets. The flood level has dropped and the river will be within it's banks, although I haven't seen it myself since I've been away at my mums for a few days to look after her following her outpatient treatment in hospital. The online river level monitor shows the current level is .75metres above normal.

@pyrrhula These trees have survived many previous floods, so hopefully they will survive this one too.

@fishers Out of experiances I know plants can survife dry better than wet. One day wet feets (at home)is a die plant.
