Gaia by fishers

Gaia

Katharine took our grandchildren Oliver and Evelyn to look at the cathedral in Peterborough, and below the tower they found this artwork.

Gaia is a touring artwork by UK artist Luke Jerram. Measuring seven metres in diameter, Gaia features 120dpi detailed NASA imagery of the Earth’s surface. The artwork provides the opportunity to see our planet floating in three-dimensions, and slowly rotating.

They all took photos of the installation, but this one was taken by Katharine.

Katharine sends her grateful thanks for all your comments and favs, and for putting this shot on the Popular Page.

I'm really disappointed to have missed seeing this myself. I understand that there are several identical displays and that they on tour in different parts of the world. Perhaps I might catch it later!

Our grandchildren spent some time laying on mats provided to look up and take photos of it.
